Product detailed description
Overview
An interesting shu puer from the Yibang Ancient Tea Mountain (倚邦), which was pressed in the summer of 2024. The tea was generously provided by the Zhou family (Zhoujie and Mengmeng), a couple living in Jiabu village (架布) who source their teas from six ancient tea mountains (Guliudachashan 古六大茶山). During our work trip to Xishuangbanna at the beginning of 2025, we spent quite a lot of time travelling and exploring several tea gardens and tasting various teas from the Mengla area (勐腊). The tea has a red wine color and a distinctive molasses-sugarcane fragrance. While we were drinking at Zhou's tea house, we liked the smoothness and white orchid aftertaste (Bauhinia variegata var. candida), one of the characteristics of this region.
Tea profile (akt. 02-04-2025)

- Body: Pronounced smoothness and balanced
- Taste: Rare wood (mahogany, camphor and santal), sour bread and sugar cane with subtle tones of white orchid and honey
