HN004 - Nixing gaiwan 170 ml

Overview
High-quality handmade Nixing gaiwan. The gaiwan is made from Nixing clay (Nixing Tao 坭兴陶) and originates from a small pottery workshop in the city of Qinzhou (钦州市) in the southwestern Chinese province of Guangxi (广西). The gaiwan is equipped with an internal round-shaped strainer. The history of this pottery dates back to the Chinese Tang dynasty (618–907) and is considered one of the four most famous types of Chinese tea pottery.

Before use
For better taste, we suggest preparing one type or a similar type of tea in your teaware (e.g., non-fermented teas such as shengcha 生茶 and Yunnan white tea 白茶 or fermented/oxidized teas such as shucha 熟茶, Yunnan red tea 红茶, or oolong tea 乌龙). We also suggest to boil your teaware in hot water for about 20-30 minutes with your preferred tea. This will help to get rid of residual dust and dirt and better adapt your teaware to your favourite type of tea. The enhancement of tea taste should be experienced after 4-5 tea sessions, so be patient.
